AWWASHNet specifically focuses on how women’s rights and access to water are affected by privatization policies, corporatization, and commodification of water and public policies on water resources. AWWASHNet will build the capacity of its members to effectively engage in and influence policy debates from a gender perspective and mobilize to resist any form of privatization that will put women’s rights under siege. Through its Water Justice and Capacity Building Program the network will also monitor African governments responses to regional and global instruments and protocols related to WASH.
