Movement Building
This thematic area focuses on ways the network organizes and mobilizes to effect change. To strengthen its own capacity as a network and raise the knowledge base of members, AWWASHNet is directed by the belief that information sharing and regular meetings among its members’ partnerships, collaboration and networking with other organizations working on similar issues is the most effective way to maximize resources and achieve desired results.
AWWASHNet emphasizes the importance of participation in and contribution to movement processes, actions and events within and outside Africa related to issues that border on the Network’s stated objectives, because through this, AWWASHNet members can strengthen individual struggles for the human right to water, improve their capacity, share best practices, remain relevant and an influential women’s WASH network within the water and sanitation justice movement as well as the global, regional and national policy space and strengthen advocacy alliances in order to keep gender equality and women’s issues in the national and international agenda on WASH.
